Irene Scalfani Elected Chairwoman of Tiegerman Board of Directors
GLEN COVE, NEW YORK – February 13, 2020 This month, Tiegerman Board of Directors elected Irene Scalfani as the Chairwoman of the board. The Tiegerman community is thrilled to have Irene as the Chairwoman, as she is the first woman to hold this position on our board. Irene is taking the reins after being a member of the board for four years. Irene and her husband John have been part of the Tiegerman family for many years; John, A.K.A. Santa Claus, is also a member of the board. John is a fantastic Santa and it has become his claim to fame! Whether it is golfing at Tiegerman’s Annual Golf Outing, or volunteering at one of the many fundraising events, Irene and her husband are familiar faces within the community. "I was honored when Dr. Tiegerman asked me to be the Chairperson – the first woman chair!” Irene explains, “There are so many reasons I became involved with Tiegerman…the passion and commitment of everyone here…it's contagious! The energy and vision - boundless! Being a part of the present, but also being part of the future vision, impacting the lives of the children, I want to be part of it and help make it happen!" Irene is a graduate of St. John's University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. She has always worked in the financial services industry and is currently a managing director at Principal Financial Group, where she has worked for the past 12 years. In her spare time, Irene enjoys Pilates, spending time with family, and roaming the aisles of TJ Maxx and Home Goods! Irene and John are “pawrents” to their rescued dog, Cuda, a Great Dane x Rhodesian mix, who provides unconditional love every day! Tiegerman looks forward to the great things Irene has planned for the board and the greater Tiegerman Community. Tiegerman is continuously welcoming to new members to the board.
